This white salt glazed stoneware dinner plate , was made in Staffordshire , circa 1760-80. It has moulded peacock feather border and is decorated with handpainted flowers. It measures 9 7/8 in diameter. There is a flat chip and a smaller chip on the edge , two fine glaze lines on the face that do not go through , and some fine kiln dust speckles , all from when it was made.
